This week the Norwich Township Fire Department visited us at HUMC Preschool. Children toured the fire truck and saw all of their firefighting equipment. The firemen taught the kids about the danger of matches and lighters, how to call 911, and how to stop, drop, and roll.
Children watched as a fireman suited up in full gear. Sometimes young children are scared when they see and hear a firefighter wearing his/her hat, mask, and oxygen tank. The visiting firemen taught the kids that a regular person is under all of that gear. They reassured them that firefighters are helpful and that kids should not be fearful of them.
The kids really enjoyed the visit and we would like to thank Norwich Township Fire Department.
